 CHELP Homemaker Program in Decatur, IL

This program is designed to provide housekeeping and personal care to persons 60 years of age and older in Decatur, IL who are unable to perform necessary household work to remain living independently in their own homes. The purpose of providing these services is to prevent unnecessary and expensive institutionalization of seniors. To be eligible for this program, you must be 60 years of age or older or have some physical disability, and meet the asset requirements which will be explained to you when the care coordinator comes to your home.

Rehabilitation Services

This program is designed to provide housekeeping and personal care to persons 18 years of age and older with a disability in Macon County who are unable to perform necessary household work to remain living independently in their own homes. The purpose of providing these services is to prevent unnecessary and expensive institutionalization. To be eligible for this program, a person must be pre-authorized by the Department of Rehabilitation.

Why CHELP?

CHELP cares about the safety of our clients. CHELP conducts a State Background check, does finger printing, and checks Illinois Health Care Page Registry, the Office of Attorney General & Fraud websites, the National Sex Offenders website, and the Illinois Most Wanted website. If your homemaker is not available to work, we can send back-up and if there are any disciplinary issues, we can handle it without interruption to the client's service.

These services help establish house routines, plan, and prepare nutritious meals and special diets, and provide routine housekeeping such as making and changing beds, washing dishes, vacuuming, laundry, kitchen, and bathroom cleaning. They can help prepare shopping lists and do shopping as necessary, and transport and accompany the client to the doctor's office and other places as necessary. Our Private Care staff can also provide non-medical personal care and can act as advocates for the client in obtaining services.
